The Rangiroa pearl farm Gauguin's Pearl offers free and comprehensive guided tours on the culture of Tahitian pearls. Photos and videos are allowed throughout the visit. Our farm shop will give you the opportunity to bring back one of your most beautiful souvenirs from Rangiroa. Furthermore, as a pearl producer, we guarantee our pearls for life.

You will discover how pearl oysters produce cultured pearls. We will tell you about Tahitian pearls but just as much about other pearls & oysters around the world. During your visit, the whole production process will be explained to you and all year round you will have the opportunity to attend either the oyster grafting, or the pearl harvest and sometimes both.
The hours of the guided tours are from Monday to Friday and they take place twice during the day:

We provide you a free shuttle to pick you up from your hotel or pension to the pearl farm. You can contact us the day before or the same day at (+689) 40.93.11.30. You can call us by yourself or go through the reception of your accommodation. Note that we are not a taxi! Please check this website to book a taxi to get around Rangiroa.

The presentation of the guided tour of the pearl farm begins with a theoretical part where the entire breeding process is detailed, then by a passage in the production workshops (preparation, grafting, harvest). The detailed classification of pearls is then explained inside the shop in order to show you the possible results between the different pearls and the characteristics of their quality (round, semi-baroque, circled, keshi ...).
We offer guided tours of the pearl farm and its process to obtain Tahitian cultured pearls, so you can come by yourself and participate when it happens.
