The pass of Avatoru on the atoll of Rangiroa in the Tuamotu Archipelago was stage for the Pakumotu Pro Junior 2010 surfing competition. This surf contest was held for the first time on the atoll of Rangiroa and is the 7th event of the ASP-Pro Junior Series.

The contest saw 48 of the world’s best pro junior, 20 years of age and under compete on the perfect right of Avatoru located on the atoll of Rangiroa. The waves were perfect with stand up barrels during the whole contest. According to the surfers and judges, it was one of the best contests ever in terms of quality of wave. Tahitian surfer Tamaroa Mccomb from Huahine won the contest and its 25000$ prize money defeating Australian Mitch Crews.
